Do I juice or blend my greens? I have a great Breville juicer but the reality is my early weekday mornings are so rushed that I use my VitaMix most days. The following recipes are best using a high powered blender, like the VitaMix.
My everyday basic green juice is refreshing with very little sugar. I use this before a workout and before my morning NYC commute (which is a workout!). The mint is a great breath freshener!
1/2 c. kale
1/2 c. spinach
1/2 c. romaine lettuce
4 mint leaves
1/2 lime, peeled
1-1/2 c. coconut water
Hot summer NY mornings I always crave a bit more fruit in my juice. The combo of pineapple and cilantro gives it a bit a “Mexican mojito” taste…if you know what I mean.
3 Romaine lettuce leaves
2 large kale leaves or 1 c. of baby kale
1/4 c. cilantro
1 c. fresh chopped pineapple
1/2 lime, peeled
Somedays I like to SHAKE it up and create a real sweet and filling treat.
1/2 pear
1/2 avocado
1 tsp chia seeds
1 c. baby spinach
1 scoop of paleo or vegan protein powder
1 c. filtered water, more or less for desired consistency
1 c. homemade almond milk
